"Morpho Gesture Control" is a product that allows users to control devices with gestures such as hand movements. Users can perform actions such as selecting menu items and scrolling through the screen without touching the devices. For example, using a small camera mounted on a television, users can display the channel menu, or select the channel without using the remote control or touching the screen.
This product utilizes Morpho's core technologies such as face detection, automated subject tracking, and motion vector analysis. To recognize gestures, the user's face is detected first, and then a hand positioned adjacent to the face is detected. The movement of that hand is then recognized to control the device. Detection works even when there is more than one person, and gestures can be made using either hand. This product does not require a special camera; a regular camera can be used, and gesture/command combinations can be customized.
This product can be used by digital televisions, as well as mobile phones, digital cameras, and many other devices.
