Tokyo, Japan - May 27, 2013 – Morpho, Inc., a global leader in software image processing solutions for mobile devices, released “Morpho Defocus™,” a technology for creating an image with its background defocused and the subject standing out

Morpho Defocus™

"Morpho Defocus™" is a technology for creating an image with its background defocused to make the subject striking. This is achieved by estimating the subject from two images; one focusing on the foreground and another focusing on the background. Creating an out of focus background provides emphasis to the subject in the foreground, and “Morpho Defocus™” helps users capture those dramatic images. An image with defocused background can be taken with a digital single-lens reflex camera by opening the diaphragm; however, it is difficult to capture similar images with a smartphone because its depth of field is deep. With “Morpho Defocus™,” users can take an effective picture with a defocused background even with their smartphones easily.
