Tokyo, Japan - Feb 22, 2012 – Morpho, Inc., a global leader in software image processing solutions for mobile devices, released “MovieSolid® 4.0,” which is a succeeding version to its original video stabilizer software “MovieSolid®.” The new version provides much more high precision video stabilization than our existing product.
“MovieSolid 4.0” is a technology which compensates blur while capturing video with smartphone. By comparing the previous frame and the current frame, it detects the amount of blurs in the image and outputs the corrected current frame in real time. The product detects motion in six degrees of freedom (horizontal, vertical, depth (forward/backward), horizontal rotation, vertical rotation, and rotation upon the light axis) and compensates hand jitter in these directions. Also, the product corrects geometric distortion (rolling shutter distortion) caused by shooting a movie using a device with CMOS sensor.
In addition, “MovieSolid 4.0” detects and compensates trapezoid distortion (horizontal, vertical) caused by horizontal rotation and vertical rotation by utilizing Morpho’s original motion detection technology “SOFTGYRO 2.0,” which has been improved recently. This enhances “MovieSolid 4.0” to provide high quality video stabilization.
“MovieSolid 4.0” is showcased at the world’s largest mobile industry exhibition, Mobile World Congress 2013, which takes place at Barcelona, Spain during February 25th, 2013 through February 28th, 2013.. It is demonstrated at one of the booths of JETRO’s Japan Pavilion Hall:8.1 A29.
* Inventions related to “MovieSolid” and “SOFTGYRO” are patented and/or patent pending.
* ”MovieSolid,” “SOFTGYRO” are registered trademarks of Morpho, Inc.
*”JETRO” is a trademark of JAPAN EXTERNAL TRADE ORGANIZATION.
