Morpho Participates in Embedded Vision Summit 2020
Morpho Showcases Its Imaging AI Technology
for the Embedded Vision Industry around the World

Tokyo, Japan –March 10, 2020– Morpho, Inc. (hereinafter, “Morpho”), a global leader in image processing solutions and imaging AI solutions, announced today that it will participate in the Embedded Vision Summit 2020 to be held from Monday, May 18 to Thursday, May 21, 2020, in Santa Clara, California, USA. Morpho will be showcasing the demo of its cutting-edge imaging technologies including “Morpho Semantic Filtering™”.

In addition, Morpho will enter the competition for the third annual Vision Product of the Year Award, presenting “Morpho Semantic Filtering” that uses artificial intelligence (AI) to recognize the meaning of respective pixels in an image and improve image quality.

“Morpho Semantic Filtering”, a technology optimized for the flagship Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 865 5G Mobile Platform, was unveiled at the Snapdragon Tech Summit held by Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. in December 2019. Morpho uses the Qualcomm Spectra™ 480 ISP and the 5th generation Qualcomm® AI Engine to enable “Morpho Semantic Filtering” on Snapdragon.

Upon Morpho’s entry into the competition, Mr. Judd Heape, Senior Director of Product Management of Qualcomm Technologies, Inc., made the following statement about Morpho Semantic Filtering:

In the same contest in 2018, Morpho was given the Best AI Technology award for SoftNeuro®. In 2019, Morpho Video Processing Solutions™ was given the Best Software/Algorithm award.

About Morpho Semantic Filtering

“Morpho Semantic Filtering” incorporates a semantic segmentation technology that uses artificial intelligence (AI) to recognize the meaning of respective pixels in an image. Furthermore, it sorts the pixels in the image by category, and performs image processing such as noise reduction, dynamic range compensation, edge enhancement, and defocusing appropriately for each category. The new technology thus realizes an improvement of image quality, with its ability to process images to increase clarity, prevent deterioration, and preserve detail and texture of each object within an image.
